Job Description
A growing waste management company in Kennesaw, GA, is seeking a Controller or VP of Finance to oversee financial operations and support a significant project in the Atlanta area. This role offers two distinct growth paths: become the Controller of the company or take on the CTO position for an exciting new facility project. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction budgets, financial statement creation, and thrive in a dynamic startup environment.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $170,000 / year DOE
Controller/VP of Finance Requirements:
- 5-12 years of experience in finance, preferably in the construction or real estate development sectors
- Strong experience in financial statement creation and budget adherence
- Detail-oriented with a decisive mindset
- Capable of thriving in a smaller team environment
- Excellent communication skills and a team player attitude
- 45 hours a week
- CPA certification preferred, but not required
Controller/VP of Finance Responsibilities:
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statement creation
- Monitor budgets, invoices, and expenses, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Hire and manage an AR/AP person to streamline operations
- Collaborate with the CFO on project budgeting and financial oversight
- Adapt to changing priorities and wear multiple hats as the organization grows
- Partner with the engineering firm to manage the facility build-out
