Controller
Job Description
A retail distributor of quality home products in Denver, CO is searching for a skilled Controller to join their team! They are looking for someone with at least 5 years of accounting experience and time spent in a management role to oversee key financial operations and management within the company. This is an amazing opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional to take their career to new heights in this leadership role at a diverse and inclusive family-owned company!
Pay Range: $115,000 - $130,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing bank reconciliations, particularly for high-volume transactions
- Managing Accounts Payable, ensuring timely payments to a high volume of vendors on a weekly basis
- Overseeing payroll operations, including the management of commission and salary-based payroll for a diverse team
- Engaging in general ledger activities and ensuring compliance with financial regulations
- Conducting and supervising monthly and annual financial closing processes
- Participating in audits and ensuring the department adheres to regulatory standards
- Collaborating with executive leadership on commission calculations, inventory management, cost accounting, and cash flow reporting
- Managing and improving accounting processes and protocols
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
- At least 5 years of accounting experience with a minimum of 1 year in a management role
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Excel, including intermediate knowledge of v-lookups
- Strong leadership skills, capable of managing a team and driving departmental success
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex accounting tasks
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
