Job Description
A small construction company in Bismark, ND is searching for a detail-oriented Controller to oversee its financial operations! This role is essential for ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, and efficient handling of all accounting tasks. If you re an accounting professional with at least 4 years of experience and you re looking for a significant opportunity for leadership at a friendly and laid-back construction, we d love to hear from you! Salary Range: $75, 000 - $85, 000 / year DOE
Controller Requirements:
- 4+ years in accounting roles (Bookkeeper, Accountant, or Controller)
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance
- High proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with accounting software
- CPA is preferred
- Background in construction
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to handle high-volume tasks with precision
Controller Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting operations including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Prepare and review financial statements, monthly and annual reports
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and tax filings
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls and procedures
- Manage employee relations including new hire paperwork and updating employee manuals
- Reconcile bank accounts and audit financial transactions and documents
- Foster strong customer and vendor relationships
