Construction Controller

Onsite:

A rapidly growing construction company in West Palm Beach, FL, is seeking an experienced Construction Controller to lead its financial operations, guide an accounting team, and streamline processes to support its ambitious growth trajectory. This onsite position requires expertise in WIP, job costing, and financial reporting, offering an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a dynamic and collaborative environment. Salary Range: $125,000 150,000k / year DOE

Construction Controller Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage financial operations for two entities
• Supervise and lead a team of five direct reports, including training and development
• Implement and standardize processes and procedures across the department
• Manage budgeting, cash flow projections, and financial reporting
• Collaborate with ownership to present financial data and performance metrics
• Oversee Work-in-progress (WIP) reporting and job-costing processes
• Ensure accurate payroll processing on a weekly basis
• Lead ERP migration efforts and manage large data sets using advanced Excel techniques (vlookups, xlookups)

Construction Controller Requirements:

• Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance
• 3 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory roles
• Construction industry experience required, including WIP reporting and job costing
• Proficiency in financial reporting and budgeting
• Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, xlookups) and familiarity with ERP systems; Sage Intact experience preferred
• Ability to work 100% on-site in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Strong business acumen with excellent organizational and communication skills
• Confident and proactive problem solver with the ability to meet deadlines and communicate financial processes clearly
