Construction Bookkeeper
Job Description
A leading general contractor specializing in industrial, retail, office, medical, multi-family housing, and hospitality projects is searching for a dedicated Construction Bookkeeper to join their team in Golden Valley, MN. They are looking for candidates with 5+ years of construction project accounting experience, proficiency in job costing, and a sharp, analytical mindset to manage financials, handle month-end close, and ensure accurate project accounting. Construction Bookkeeper Requirements:
- 5+ years of construction project accounting experience
- Proficiency in Sage 300 or similar accounting software (QuickBooks acceptable)
- Strong knowledge of Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas required)
- Sharp, analytical mindset with the ability to work independently and proactively
- Experience with job costing
Construction Bookkeeper Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end close activities including journal entries and debits/credits
- Assist with accounts receivable, processing approximately 100 invoices per week
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure KPIs are met, contributing to potential bonus earnings
- Manage budgeting processes and check runs
- Utilize our custom ERP system and Sage 300 for accounting tasks
- Ensure financial accuracy and awareness across all projects
- No initial management duties, but potential for future growth into a managerial position
