Construction Accountant

Job Description
Boutique Recruiting has a new and exciting opportunity in Carlsbad, CA to work as a Construction Accountant! We are looking for a polished professional that has 3+ years of experience in the construction industry to be responsible for job costing and project accounting for a multifamily construction company that is growing quickly. You will be working with project managers on 10-15 projects simultaneously so attention to detail and organization are crucial for this job, as each project is different.
This position offers a hybrid work style, with three days in the office and two days working from home. It also has the potential to evolve into a Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller role, so there is the opportunity for growth. The work atmosphere is welcoming and inviting, with company-sponsored lunch on the first Thursday of every month, ping-pong tournaments in the break room, and office snacks!
Pay Range: $65,000 - $75,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Job costing and project accounting
- Manage tax credits and government programs
- Handle low-income tax credits
- Work with project managers on subcontractor payments and ensure all invoices are posted in Sage
- Prepare general ledger entries and account reconciliations
- Month-end close
- Reconcile accounts monthly
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 3-5+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry
- Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables and vlookups)
- Experience in job costing
- Familiarity with Low Income Tax Credits
- Multifamily construction background (preferred)
- CPA certification (preferred)
- Sage 300 experience (strongly preferred)
