A leading title insurance company based in New York, NY, is searching for a highly motivated and collaborative Commercial Title Examiner. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of innovative, result-driven individuals in a company that values job satisfaction and growth. This individual will work alongside industry leaders to play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy of title searches, legal documents, and surveys while being a trusted resource for clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate is personable, client-focused, and has experience working for a title company or underwriter.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 / year DOE
Commercial Title Examiner Responsibilities:
- Conduct commercial title searches and examinations, review legal documents, and issue title insurance policies
- Analyze survey maps, plats, and legal descriptions to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and deliver title commitments, including detailed cover letters highlighting title matters.
- Collaborate with stakeholders such as attorneys, lenders, and underwriters to address title issues and maintain strong working relationships
- Utilize company systems to track and manage title processes while providing exceptional internal and external customer service
Commercial Title Examiner Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of commercial title examination experience, preferably from an underwriter or title company
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and title-related software (experience with SoftPro is a plus)
- Strong ability to review and analyze survey maps, plats, and legal descriptions
- Excellent communication skills, customer service focus, and a collaborative mindset
