Civil Engineer
Job Description
A leading civil engineering firm in Rancho Cordova, CA is searching for an experienced Civil Engineer to join their team! Specializing in subdivision, commercial, and landscape projects, the firm primarily works with private and public home builders and developers throughout the greater Sacramento area. They are looking for proactive candidates with a strong civil engineering background, expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and a drive to take ownership of projects. Salary Range: $115,000 - $145,000 / year DOE
Civil Engineer Requirements:
- PE License
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering
- 5+ years of design experience in civil engineering
- Experience in both subdivision and commercial projects is preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Natural self-starter with the ability to think critically & take initiative
- Ability to work 100% onsite from their office in Rancho Cordova, CA
Civil Engineer Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process Tentative Maps, Improvement Plans, and Grading Plans
- Write proposals and manage projects from planning through to implementation and closeout
- Conduct cost estimating, grading design, drainage design, sewer design, water quality design, and detention basin design, including cost estimating in spreadsheets
- Interact with drafting staff, providing clear instructions to ensure successful project completion
- Follow CAD and filing standards
- Communicate effectively with staff, clients, and outside agencies
- Oversee multiple projects, typically managing 5-6 projects at a time with varying durations, from long-term developments to shorter commercial projects
- Work under a project engineer, handling assigned tasks and taking initiative to get the job done
- Occasionally visit job sites as necessary (approximately 10% of the time), with most sites within a 40-mile radius of the office
