Job Description
Are you an experienced and passionate paralegal with a keen interest in catastrophic personal injury defense? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic law firm in San Diego specializing in catastrophic injury and transportation defense. As a Catastrophic Injury Paralegal, you ll work with a dedicated team of legal professionals, supporting high-profile cases for major clients in a collaborative, ethical, and family-friendly environment. You ll gain hands-on experience managing complex cases, from subpoenaing documents to trial preparation, with consistent guidance and mentorship from industry-leading attorneys.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 / year DOE
Catastrophic Injury Paralegal Requirements:
- 5+ years of catastrophic personal injury defense experience, ideally in transportation or auto accident cases
- Strong trial prep skills, including document review, witness preparation, and exhibit management
- Paralegal Certificate required; solid understanding of medical billing
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in Clio, Outlook, Teams, and organized file management
- Detail-oriented, critical thinker with a passion for the legal field
Catastrophic Injury Paralegal Responsibilities:
- Manage case tracking, deadlines, and document organization, maintaining detailed and accessible case files in Clio
- Draft and handle subpoenas, discovery requests, and deposition materials, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met
- Summarize complex legal and medical documents, providing key insights to support case strategy and trial preparation
- Organize and prepare trial materials, including trial binders, exhibits, and witness lists, ensuring seamless readiness for court
- Coordinate and prepare witnesses for trial, working closely with attorneys on case strategy and testimony preparation
- Prepare and respond to discovery, manage records, and summarize deposition transcripts to support case progression
- Communicate regularly with clients and external contacts to provide case updates and clarify case details
