Aviation Mechanic
Job Description
A chartered aviation company in Birmingham, AL is searching for an experienced Aviation Mechanic to join their team! This important technical role involves hands-on maintenance of both the company s fleet and customer aircraft, primarily focusing on general aviation services while occasionally addressing airline-specific tasks such as tire changes and piston work. They are looking for candidates with at least 2 years of aviation maintenance experience with a strong understanding of 411 and 413 aircraft, capable of performing avionics troubleshooting and turbine maintenance for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks. This position is perfect for individuals who have previously worked in small maintenance shops and are looking to grow their careers in a supportive and ambitious company environment.
Salary Range: $35 45 / hour DOE
Aviation Mechanic Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in aviation maintenance
- Strong familiarity with 411 s and 413 s aircraft maintenance
- A&P License strongly preferred or willingness to obtain it quickly
- Ability to provide personal tools for daily job functions
- Willingness to sign a 12-month employment contract
- Experience from small maintenance shops is preferred
Aviation Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair aircraft as part of 135 and 145 certificates requirements
- Manage avionics, including troubleshooting and minor installations
- Perform general maintenance tasks including tire changes, piston work, and upkeep of various aircraft models such as XLS, Hawkers, and small Gulfstreams
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and safety standards
- Use Coredoor for maintenance tracking and coordination
