A reputable trial firm in Florida is seeking a talented Attorney to join their team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to handle transportation litigation and general liability cases, including drafting pleadings, managing discovery, attending hearings, taking depositions, and preparing for trials. The position involves working closely with senior partners, contributing to strategic case development, and delivering exceptional client service. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, an excellent writer, and experienced in defense litigation, with a proactive and collaborative approach to achieving case outcomes.

Attorney Responsibilities

  • Handle transportation litigation cases, representing trucking companies, shipping companies, and other clients involved in loading and shipping cargo
  • Manage general liability cases, including trip and fall, motor vehicle accidents, and catastrophic injuries
  • Draft pleadings, conduct discovery, and prepare for trials, ensuring the highest quality of legal representation
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed written analyses of complex legal issues
  • Take depositions, attend hearings, and participate in client meetings
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal support staff, including paralegals and legal secretaries, to ensure timely and efficient case management
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping records using the firm's systems, including WestLaw, iManage, Expert Time, and Relativity

Attorney Requirements:

  • Bar admission in Florida
  • A minimum of two years of defense litigation experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Maritime/admiralty law
    • Trucking litigation
    • Longshore cases
    • General liability work (e.g., trip and fall, motor vehicle accidents)
    • Personal injury defense, especially involving trucking/auto accidents
    • Insurance defense
  • Defense experience required
  • Strong analytical and legal writing skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required
