A fast-growing, boutique divorce and family law firm in White Plains, NY is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to manage a caseload of complex family law matters, including divorce, child custody, surrogacy, and prenuptial agreements. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about delivering personalized legal services with empathy and professionalism. This role is for someone professional, empathetic, and passionate about advocating for clients in sensitive family law matters and looking for an opportunity to grow within a collaborative firm.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 / year DOE

Associate Attorney Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation for clients in various matrimonial and family law matters, including contested and uncontested divorce, child custody petitions, and prenuptial agreements
  • Manage a caseload of 20-30 complex family law cases simultaneously
  • Prepare and draft legal documents such as petitions, motions, agreements, and contracts
  • Conduct legal research to ensure accuracy and relevance in representation
  • Uphold strict client confidentiality and professional ethics
  • Participate in continued legal education and workshops to stay current with legal developments
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality, client-centered service
  • Bill 35 hours per week, with the opportunity for performance bonuses based on billable hours and referrals

Associate Attorney Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the New York State Bar
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience exclusively in divorce and family law
  • Strong knowledge of New York family law statutes, regulations, and legal principles
  • Ability to manage 20-30 complex cases at once while delivering exceptional service
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom; experience with Clio is preferred but not required
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to clients experiencing emotionally charged legal matters
