Job Description


Our client is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their non-profit insurance company. In this role you will work closely with the Controller who provides independence and autonomy.  There is a lot of growth potential into the Controller role within a couple of years!  A hybrid work schedule can be earned after the initial training period. This is a fantastic opportunity to elevate your career in the accounting industry!

Pay Range: $75,000 - $100,000 DOE plus potential bonus

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare annual statements for insurance companies and statutory accounting
  • File quarterly reports
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Oversee bank reconciliations
  • Work with auditors and the Texas Department of Insurance for audits and statutory accounting

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or economics
  • Tech-savvy with experience in software conversion
  • CPA certification is a PLUS
  • Familiarity with fraternal benefit societies is a PLUS (but not required)
  • Understanding of statutory accounting is a PLUS (but not required)
