Accounting Specialist
Job Description
Onsite
A leading construction company is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their team onsite in Palm Springs, CA. In this role, you ll assist with vital accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You ll also play a key role in managing accounts payable/receivable, supporting onboarding for new financial systems, and maintaining compliance with regulations. Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 / year DOE
Accounting Specialist Responsibilities:
- Support the Controller with daily accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Process and monitor accounts payable and receivable
- Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
- Generate financial statements and job cost reports
- Assist in onboarding new financial software and transitioning processes
- Liaise with external auditors, tax professionals, and service providers
- Perform office tasks including handling mail, emails, and phone communications
- Order and manage office supplies
Accounting Specialist Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
- High school diploma required
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel
- Experience with Timberline software is preferred, but not required
- Construction industry experience is preferred, but not required
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
