Accounting Manager
Job Description
A full-time Accounting Manager is needed to join a robust team at a privately-owned and operated packaging and janitorial supplier in Richmond, CA. This role requires a critical thinker who has a deep understanding of applicable AR, AP, General Ledger and inventory process and systems. Salary Range: $105,000 - $120,000 / year DOE
Accounting Manager Requirements:
- 5+ years of high-volume, full cycle accounting experience
- Experience in a multi-brand and multi-state environment
- Thorough knowledge of AR, AP, General Ledger, and inventory processes and systems; experience with AS400-based systems is a plus
- Proficient with the understanding of debits, credits, and the balance sheet
- Exceptional communication skills, strong work ethic, and attention to detail
- Trainable with a desire to be mentored and grow into an Assistant Controller and eventually a Controller
- Team player who can review processes, identify workflow improvements, and guide change management; willingness to coach, mentor, and train others
- Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or a blue-collar environment is preferred
- This is a fully onsite position out of their office in Richmond, CA
Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial statements and manage general ledger close ensuring compliance with GAAP and other policies
- Confirm revenue postings and perform general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end accruals
- Post payroll entries and manage lock box, ACH, and credit card transactions
- Prepare and file tax reports and maintain Fixed Asset schedules
- Establish internal controls for accurate financial reporting
- Monitor and forecast cash flow and manage ACH and wire transactions
- Reconcile and resolve account discrepancies
- Assist with process improvement and migration to paperless workflow
