Accounting Manager
Job Description
A leading organization in the youth and adult hockey training and tournament industry is looking for a dynamic Accounting Manager to join their growing team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a professional who can lead improvements in financial reporting and support the company's operational growth. The ideal candidate will bring experience in accounting management, payroll, tax compliance, and QuickBooks Online, with the ability to bring fresh ideas to enhance and modernize accounting processes.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $125,000 / year DOE
Accounting Manager Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in an accounting management role
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of payroll, payroll taxes, workers' compensation, and general ledger management
- Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations
- Ability to streamline financial processes and implement improvements
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis is a plus
Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including payroll, tax filings, and account reconciliations
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reports
- Manage general ledger, financial reporting, and ensure accurate financial statements
- Provide solutions and alternatives to improve financial reporting and internal systems
- Collaborate with the COO to address tax issues and discuss potential improvements
- Assist in restructuring and automating accounting processes for greater efficiency
- Support budgeting and forecasting initiatives to optimize financial planning
