Accounting Manager
Job Description

A family office is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee the financial activities of the company and its affiliated family office, ensuring proper management of investments, cash flow, tax planning, and estate planning. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can collaborate with C-suite executives, family members, and external service providers to maintain accurate financial records and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to financial management.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 / year DOE
Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between family members, the company, affiliated entities, and investment partners for financial matters
- Provide quarterly cash flow and expense analyses along with balance sheets for the family office, trusts, and foundations
- Monitor cash activities and correspond with family members regarding expenditures and investments
- Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff
- Oversee and coordinate personal business management services for family members
- Maintain accurate records of asset holdings, ownership percentages, and distributions
- Prepare monthly financial reports, cash flow statements, and forecasts
- Process capital calls for investments and manage distributions of funds
- Support special projects related to future investment strategies
- Coordinate insurance renewals and policy management
- Record and report philanthropic contributions while tracking outstanding obligations
- Collaborate with external CPAs and internal tax managers to prepare filings for partnerships, individuals, and trusts
- Support audit processes and ensure reconciliation between tax and corporate accounting
Accounting Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in investment management, family office, or high-net-worth financial services
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify accounting issues, and provide solutions
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
