Accounting Assistant
Job Description
A compassionate nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children from families in crisis is searching for a friendly and well-organized Accounting Assistant to join their team in Hockley, TX! This is a rewarding position for someone with at least 5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience where you will get to not only be providing accounting duties, but also helping kids in the process. You’ll be interacting with some of the children on campus to ensure their accounts get updated on a daily basis, so this is great for an accounting professional who is nurturing and enjoys working in this type of setting. The organization has a supportive and family-oriented work culture, where everyone is helpful and caring and have birthday lunches together. Pay Range: $55,000 - $65,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Managing accounts payable, including tracking and paying contract workers
- Overseeing payroll in collaboration with an outsourced firm
- Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual book closings
- Performing bank reconciliations and managing petty cash
- Processing payments to vendors and handling credit card receipts
- Filing various legal documents and maintaining records
- Assisting with the annual financial audit
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping
- High school diploma required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate skills in Word and Excel
- Experience with Sage Intacct and Ramp is preferred
- Nonprofit experience is a plus
