AP/AR Accountant

A growing scrap metal company is seeking an AP/AR Accountant to join their collaborative and dynamic team in Longwood, FL. In this role, you ll focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable, data entry, and supporting month-end processes. You will handle key responsibilities such as preparing invoices, reconciling accounts, and working across multiple divisions to ensure accurate financial records. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, adaptable professional with accounting experience who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. They are seeking a candidate with excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a strong ability to multitask. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a relaxed but lively office setting, where collaboration and adaptability are key to success.
AP/AR Accountant Responsibilities:
- Assist with the monthly reconciliation process and month-end close
- Maintain and review accounts receivable, including corresponding with customers on outstanding balances
- Manage accounts payable to ensure timely and accurate processing
- Prepare and issue Pro-Forma and final invoices based on commodity hedges
- Record general journal entries and assist in preparing sales documents
- Reconcile credit card statements and complete various data entry tasks
- Multitask across different divisions and support cross-trained team efforts
- Perform general office and accounting duties as assigned
AP/AR Accountant Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to ask for help when needed
- 2-year or 4-year degree in accounting is a plus
- Experience with NetSuite Oracle is preferred
- Background in construction or related industries is preferred
