Senior Tax Accountant
Job Description
A fast-growing financial services firm in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a talented Senior Tax Accountant to join their team! The company specializes in delivering personalized financial solutions to high-net-worth individuals, families and businesses. They are looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a CPA firm or public accounting setting. This position offers a hybrid work schedule after 3 months and the opportunity for growth within the department, potentially leading to a leadership role as the department director!

Pay Range: $90,000 - $140,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Review tax returns for individuals, corporations, trusts, nonprofits, and small business owners
- Prepare and review federal and state individual, business, trust, and nonprofit tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimated payments
- Provide federal and state tax recommendations
- Assist with federal and state audits
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, tax provisions, and tax regulations
- Collaborate with the tax team to deliver high-quality tax services to clients
- Stay updated on tax laws and regulations
- Train and mentor junior staff members
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in tax accounting, including individual and corporate tax returns
- Proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance
- EA or CPA certification required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Strong supervisory skills and experience
- Knowledge of business tax and LLC returns
- Familiarity with CCH or Lacert tax software is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook
