IOT Architect / Engineer
Job Description
A community-building smart home start-up company out of Jonestown, TX, is seeking a IoT Architect/Engineer. The company is looking for someone who can come in and lead company initiatives in regard to deploying new products. This individual must be able to work across many disciplines including software, IoT hardware, Networking, and complex automation systems. They must have a deep technical understanding of what it takes to connect, collect, and manage data across many connected devices used in the company. Includes management of EV bike, scooters care, Smart Home, Smart lighting, Vehicle tracking for delivery, and Grab & Go solution.
Pay Range: $160,000 - $175,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Take lead and responsibility for the integration of 3rd party solutions
- Documentation of design specifications and implementation details of 3rd party APIs and ensure integration is possible with preferred solutions
- Supplier and manufacturer sourcing, quotation, costing, and coordination up to product delivery
- Provide robust and reliable hardware / Software solutions
- Responsible for the complete implementation of detailed technical items and an understanding of system-level items
- Collaborate with other team members (including both hardware and software engineers) to agree on system designs, interfaces, protocols, etc
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a comparable degree
- Minimum of 5 years of proven IoT experience in a relevant industry
- Very good knowledge of Device management, connectivity, and overall use cases for smart cities or similar
- Experience working with IoT solutions providers (Ex: IBM, SAP, Cisco, AWS, etc) and integrating their solutions with company systems
- Knowledge of API interfaces for connecting software & hardware solutions
- Proven ability to architect and design an IoT-based platform and associated devices
- Experience in the following Tech fields is a BIG PLUS: Smart Homes, connected buildings, energy management, smart lighting, EV vehicle program sharing
