Payroll and HR Generalist
Job Description
A nationally leading steel manufacturing company in Pittsburgh, PA is searching for an experienced Payroll and HR Generalist to join their team! This critical role involves managing certified payroll processes for all of North America, handling both unionized and salaried employee payrolls, and assisting with HR responsibilities. This is a great position for a mid-career professional who is looking for the work-life balance of a hybrid schedule and can hit the ground running to provide immediate support while preparing to take on more responsibilities in the future. Payroll and HR Generalist Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in certified payroll 5+ years in certified payroll is preferred
- Proficiency with Ceridian/Dayforce and Microsoft Suite
- Strong knowledge of tax reporting and W2 processing
- Experience conducting audits is essential
- CPP designation is preferred
- Manufacturing background is a plus
Payroll and HR Generalist Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payrolls for unionized locations and act as a backup for salaried payrolls
- Assist with month-end close and HR responsibilities, including oversight of the company s awards program
- Manage quarterly taxes and state reporting, and reconcile accounts as needed
- Ensure all payroll operations utilize our SAP and Dayforce systems effectively
