Accounting Manager
Job Description
A non-profit organization based in Boca Raton, FL is searching for an experienced Accounting Manager to become a key member of the team in a role that reports directly to the CFO! This position involves overseeing accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and reconciliation, and participating in audit processes. They are looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience in accounting, specifically with a focus on AP/AR functions and strong organizational skills. If you have nonprofit experience, that’s also a plus! The company is truly a great place to work with a team that is both friendly and collaborative. Pay Range: $80,000 - $90,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Oversee two direct reports, an AR and AP specialist
- Responsible for reporting salaries and overseeing balance sheet accounts related to AR
- Process journal entries and conduct various financial reconciliations
- Ensure readiness for audits and maintain consistent accuracy in financial records
- Work closely with the grants department and manage related accounting functions
- Participate in financial planning and budgeting processes
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on AP/AR functions
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Proficiency in Excel and Financial Edge (ERP specific to nonprofit) is desired
- Previous experience in a nonprofit setting is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
