Project Accounting Assistant
Job Description
A leading commercial subcontractor in Rancho Dominguez, CA is searching for a skilled Construction Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team! They are looking for someone with at least 2 years of accounts receivable experience in the construction industry to manage billing collections. Pay Range: $60,000 - $65,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Manage billing for 30 - 40 different projects per month, including reviewing contracts and extracting relevant details
- Update tracking systems with new job information and ensure all requirements for new project starts are met
- Handle collections efficiently through email and phone communications
- Ensure persistent follow-up, especially with project managers, to meet billing and collections objectives
- Manage the sending out of Certificates of Insurance (COI)
- Work closely with the project management team to resolve billing and collection issues
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of accounts receivable experience, specifically within the construction industry
- Proficiency in construction billing and familiarity with construction ERP software
- Strong communication skills for professional interactions with clients and project managers, especially regarding collections
- Experience with systems like Plexis, Textora, Pro-core, Bluebeam, or similar
- Excellent follow-up skills, crucial for managing billings and collections
- Comfortable with phone-based client interactions and capable of handling potentially challenging collection situations
- A bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory, as experience is highly valued
- Must have strong organizational and time-management skills
