Application Engineer
Job Description
A leading fiberglass pipe manufacturer in Houston, TX is searching for an Application Engineer to join their dynamic team! They are looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience in pressure piping design to provide engineering support and design work for FRPM pipe applications. This role is perfect for someone passionate about contributing to innovative and quality pipe solutions in the water and sewer markets who is looking to join a great company with a fun work culture. Pay Range: $110,000 - $130,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering support and expertise for FRPM pipe applications in water and sewer markets
- Review project plans and specifications, preparing pipe performance calculations and submittal documents
- Design and draw mitered fittings using AutoCAD or Inventor, including elbows, tees, wyes, and more
- Analyze and prepare additions and revisions to submittals, resolving questions and requests from reviewers
- Review geo-tech reports to determine structural support values for piping systems
- Offer technical support to Sales, Production, Commercial, Management, Installers, Specifiers, and Agencies
- Prepare “Technical Spec Review” summaries and specification mark-ups for project requirements
- Engage in occasional travel for client and customer site visits (few times a year)
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-7 years of direct experience in pressure piping design
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Science, or Polymer Science
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must
- Familiarity with MS Office, SAP, Inventor, Cesar 2, and Solid Works is a plus
- Experience in FEA, Surge Analysis, Composite Design, and Layout is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a team player mentality
- Ability to multitask and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment
