Job Description

Position Title: Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist

This opportunity offers the chance to take ownership of billing and collections for a well-established construction organization while partnering with project teams to keep projects moving and cash flow strong. This role is ideal for an experienced Accounts Receivable professional who understands construction billing, enjoys solving problems, and can confidently manage collections while maintaining positive customer relationships. Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 / Year DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and send customer invoices based on contract terms and project progress
  • Follow up on past-due accounts and manage collections efforts
  • Run credit checks on new customers and assist with credit reviews
  • Monitor aging reports and track outstanding balances
  • Work with Project Managers to resolve billing questions, disputes, and change orders
  • Prepare preliminary notices, lien waivers, and other required collection documents
  • Track important lien and collection deadlines
  • Apply customer payments and reconcile accounts in accounting software
  • Maintain accurate records of customer communications and collection activity
  • Assist with month-end AR reporting and account reconciliations
  • Recommend improvements to billing and collections processes

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Accounts Receivable and collections experience in construction
  • Experience with Sage 100 Contractor or similar accounting software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred
