Job Description

Position Title: Remote SVP – Business Development (Community Banks)

This is a high-impact business development role for a senior relationship leader who knows how to win trust in the community banking space and turn that trust into long-term revenue. The SVP of Business Development will own and grow executive-level relationships with community bank CEOs and CFOs, lead strategic conversations around tax-advantaged investment solutions, capital planning, and effective tax rate strategies, and partner closely with internal teams to deliver sophisticated financial solutions. This is not a transactional sales role. It is built for someone who can navigate complex, long-cycle institutional relationships with credibility, precision, and a team-first mindset.

The right candidate is a seasoned, analytical, and relationship-driven business development professional with strong executive presence, deep knowledge of community bank financial dynamics, and the humility to win as part of a collaborative team.

Remote SVP – Business Development (Community Banks) Responsibilities:

  • Build, manage, and expand relationships with community bank CEOs, CFOs, and other senior decision-makers
  • Lead strategic discussions around tax rate reduction, capital planning, and tax-advantaged investment strategies
  • Drive new business across community bank accounts through consultative, high-level relationship management
  • Partner internally with tax credit investment and investment subsidiary teams to deliver tailored client solutions
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, client meetings, and other business development events
  • Travel regularly for conferences, client visits, and relationship-building initiatives
  • Prospect through industry engagement, referrals, and conference networking rather than high-volume cold calling
  • Serve as a market-facing thought leader through panel participation, breakout sessions, webinars, and written content
  • Help expand penetration within a large target market of community banks nationwide
  • Maintain a disciplined, proactive approach to pipeline development in a long sales-cycle environment

Remote SVP – Business Development (Community Banks) Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience advising or selling financial solutions directly to community bank C-suite executives, especially CEOs and CFOs
  • Strong understanding of bank financial statements, tax incentives, depreciation, and capital management concepts
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience with strong relevant relationships
  • Proven ability to build credibility in boardroom and executive-level conversations
  • Established relationships within the community banking sector, ideally in the $2B–$50B asset range
  • Background in areas such as capital markets, fixed income sales, investment banking, strategic advisory, public accounting, tax advisory or portfolio management consulting
  • Ability to manage complex, consultative sales processes with longer decision cycles
  • Strong executive communication skills and the ability to translate complex financial strategies into business value
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience is helpful, but can be learned
  • Willingness to travel regularly for conferences and client meetings
  • Self-starter mentality with strong responsiveness, sound judgment, and a growth mindset
  • Collaborative approach with no ego and a clear commitment to team success

Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary with strong earning potential through quarterly performance-based commission
  • Long-term income upside with significant growth potential as the business expands
  • Remote work flexibility with the ability to live anywhere
  • Medical and dental coverage with a strong employer contribution
  • 401(k) with 6% dollar-for-dollar match
  • Three weeks of PTO in the first year, with flexibility for the right candidate
  • 11 paid holidays
  • Paid medical leave with salary coverage
  • Stable, privately held company with strong revenue, long employee tenure, and real growth
  • Collaborative, humble culture that values teamwork, development, and work-life balance
  • Opportunity to join a respected firm with a strong reputation and a significant untapped market opportunity

If you are a trusted advisor in the community banking space and you know how to turn executive relationships into real business, this is the kind of opportunity that can elevate your career and your earning power, apply now. #LI-KJ1
