Job Description

Position Title: Marketing & Operations Manager

Two premium dental courses a month, a loyal base of returning attendees, and a direct line to the Executive President: this boutique education company in a specialty niche needs a Marketing & Operations Manager who treats marketing as a driver of conversions and filled seats. Attendees consistently leave with their expectations exceeded, and the next step is to bring new dentists into that experience. The role is a hybrid of mostly marketing with operational and administrative work, and it rewards someone who brings original ideas rather than only executing the ideas handed over.

The work spans social media, email, newsletters, the website, and live events. On course days, the successful candidate photographs and films sessions, interviews attendees, and publishes their feedback, which gives direct contact with the target audience. The team is small and works together on site every day, and in-person brainstorming is central to how the company operates. The Executive President wants to support and develop the person in this seat, and the right individual can grow into a leadership role, up to director level.

Salary Range: $95,000 – $115,000 / Year DOE

Marketing & Operations Manager Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Executive President on marketing strategy and contribute original ideas that turn into campaigns that convert
  • Run multi-channel marketing across social media, email, website, and newsletters, with a focus on filling seats in upcoming courses
  • Shape the message for each specialty and career stage, from dentists early in practice to those with decades of experience, and promote the premium, all-inclusive course experience
  • Build and send email campaigns and newsletters, update marketing collateral, and manage content and online reputation with attention to SEO
  • Edit website content in WordPress, including course dates, prices, text, and new product pages built from existing templates, and coordinate with the outside marketing company that maintains website functionality
  • Bring in new customers to reduce reliance on returning attendees, build on recent website traffic growth, improve the response to organic inquiries, and support a possible expansion into the West Coast market
  • Work on site during live courses and events, photographing and filming sessions, interviewing attendees, and publishing their feedback
  • Manage operational tasks alongside marketing, including keeping IT and AV equipment running and providing administrative support that frees up the Executive President’s time
  • Help maintain and improve the company’s quality management structure and protocols
  • Pitch in on any task, large or small, as part of a small team

Marketing & Operations Manager Requirements

  • Approximately 5 years of proven marketing experience, with a stable work history that includes longer tenures and demonstrable results
  • Multi-channel marketing experience that extends beyond social media, with the ability to develop original ideas and strategy and to judge which message reaches a target group
  • Proficiency with technology, including familiarity with WordPress and SEO
  • Understanding of a niche, specialty, and sophisticated market, and of a premium, quality- and value-driven business
  • A sales-minded approach that treats marketing as a means of driving conversions and filling courses
  • Eloquent, communicative, and comfortable with regular customer contact
  • Willingness to work on site five days a week, including at live courses with early starts and some late finishes, with no remote or hybrid option
  • Interest in operations work as well as marketing
  • Experience in place of a degree is welcome, as performance, proven results, and attitude carry the most weight
  • Photography and video skills for live courses are preferred
  • A journalism or interviewing background is preferred

Benefits

  • Health insurance reimbursement covering 50% of the employee’s plan
  • Paid time off, including sick days, beginning at 15 days
  • Retirement savings through an individual plan of the employee’s choosing, with an employer match
  • Direct mentorship from the Executive President and a clear path toward a leadership role

Marketers with roughly five years of multi-channel experience who want to see their ideas fill the room and grow into a leadership role should apply today.
