Job Description

A Hazlet, NJ based Financial Security Group is adding a Certified Financial Planner to their tight-knit, high-performing team to support complex financial and tax planning for an affluent client base. This role will take ownership of sophisticated planning strategies, quarterly tax reviews, financial modeling, and client-facing advisory conversations that directly impact long-term financial outcomes. You will partner closely with the firm’s leadership team and play a critical role in guiding clients through wealth strategies across investments, tax, insurance, benefits and retirement planning. They are looking for a curious, analytical, relationship-driven professional who thrives under responsibility, loves solving complex financial puzzles, and brings a balance of technical precision and genuine human connection.
Certified Financial Planner Responsibilities:
- Lead comprehensive financial planning for high-net-worth clients including wealth strategy, investment allocations and retirement modeling
- Conduct tax planning and quarterly tax updates, including projections, backdoor conversions and RIA contribution guidance
- Prepare client financial “report cards” and annual reviews outlining progress, outcomes and adjustments
- Advise on life, disability and long-term care insurance strategy
- Manage client communication with clarity, organization and confidence
- Collaborate with the internal team to review cases, validate assumptions and enhance planning outcomes
- Work within planning and portfolio systems including E-Money, Fidelity Wealthscape, Creative Solutions UltraTax, Tamarack, Wealthbox, Morningstar and YCharts
Certified Financial Planner Requirements:
- 3 – 5 years of experience as a Financial Planner or CFP in a client-facing environment
- Strong knowledge of tax planning concepts and how tax variables affect financial outcomes
- Familiarity with RIA contribution strategies, stock conversions, RSUs and stock options
- Bachelor’s degree required
- CFP strongly preferred
- CPA is a major plus
- Ability to translate complex financial concepts for clients with clarity and confidence
- Hungry to learn, collaborative by nature and energized by solving challenges with a team
- Local to NJ/NY or open to relocation for an exceptional candidate
