Position Title: Electrical Project Manager
An established electrical contracting company is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee complex electrical construction projects throughout Connecticut. This role will manage projects from contract handoff through closeout, overseeing budgets, schedules, labor coordination, billing, and project documentation. With a strong focus on healthcare and mission-critical facilities, projects range from $1M to $7M and involve technically demanding electrical installations in active hospitals, medical centers, and specialized facilities.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of electrical construction project management experience, a strong understanding of electrical systems and installation methods, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Salary Range: $170,000 / annually, DOE
Responsibilities
- Manage electrical construction projects from contract handoff through completion, ensuring successful execution, financial performance, and client satisfaction
- Oversee a portfolio of approximately 6–8 projects, depending on size and complexity, with individual project values typically ranging from $1M to $7M
- Coordinate project schedules, labor resources, materials, and field operations across multiple active construction sites
- Develop and maintain schedules of values (SOV), monitor project costs, track labor allocations, and oversee progress billing
- Attend weekly project meetings, collaborate with general contractors and field teams, and resolve scheduling or execution challenges
- Manage complex, phased electrical installations in occupied healthcare facilities while minimizing disruptions to ongoing operations
- Maintain accurate project documentation, financial reporting, and closeout records using Excel, Conest, and SharePoint
Requirements
- 10+ years of electrical construction project management experience, preferably with an electrical subcontractor
- Strong technical understanding of electrical systems, materials, installation methods, and construction terminology
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent electrical projects, budgets, schedules, and field operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including developing schedules of values, tracking project costs, and managing billing documentation
- Experience coordinating with general contractors, field personnel, and internal financial teams to maintain project performance
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate changing project schedules and priorities
- Ability to work onsite in Connecticut and travel to assigned project locations for meetings and coordination
