Job Description

A boutique family law firm led by a Certified Family Law Specialist and CPA who believes in mentoring high-performing legal professionals is hiring a Family Law Legal Assistant. The firm handles complex divorce, child custody, and spousal support matters with precision and heart. The Family Law Legal Assistant will support seven attorneys by managing case files, drafting legal documents, and keeping the office running seamlessly. This is a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all facets of family law within a collaborative, high-standard team. They’re looking for someone friendly, proactive, and reliable, a self-starter who takes ownership, anticipates needs, and takes pride in doing excellent work.

Salary Range: $27 – $30 / Hour DOE

Family Law Legal Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Manage case files, correspondence, and document organization across multiple attorneys
  • Handle daily administrative tasks, including phones, calendaring, and filing
  • Draft subpoenas, discovery requests, and basic legal forms
  • Coordinate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel professionally and promptly
  • Prepare and maintain accurate legal documents in Clio and MS Office
  • Monitor deadlines and assist with court filings and document delivery
  • Provide general support to attorneys while keeping workflows efficient and proactive

Family Law Legal Assistant Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary, ideally within Family Law
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Clio, Westlaw, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new software
  • Paralegal certificate a plus
