A New Jersey leader in luxury home automation and smart-home integration is seeking an Operations Manager to join its Roseland, NJ team. The Operations Manager will work directly with the CEO to bring structure, systems, and operational excellence to a growing company. This role oversees scheduling, inventory, service delivery, and field team performance to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the company’s exacting standards. This is an opportunity for a strategic yet hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and has the technical and organizational skills to transform operations into a high-performance machine.

Operations Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and workflow optimization for installation and service teams.
  • Manage field technicians and ensure timely, high-quality project delivery.
  • Maintain and improve inventory systems, procurement, and logistics for equipment and supplies.
  • Partner with leadership to implement systems, processes, and KPIs that improve efficiency and accountability.
  • Monitor client service requests and ensure timely resolution and communication.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules for company vehicles and equipment.
  • Collaborate with construction and trade partners to ensure seamless integration on job sites.
  • Participate in hiring, coaching, and performance management of staff.
  • Track operational costs and support the CEO in driving profitability and revenue growth.
  • Maintain vendor and manufacturer relationships; ensure compliance with technical standards.

Operations Manager Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in home automation, construction, or related technical service environments.
  • 2+ years of leadership or operations management experience in a service-based business.
  • Proven ability to manage scheduling, logistics, and technical teams across multiple projects.
  • Strong understanding of network systems and automation platforms such as Control4, Lutron HomeWorks, Crestron, or Josh AI.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting construction and electrical plans (MEP).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; calm under pressure with strong follow-through.
  • Tech-savvy, process-driven, and capable of bringing structure to a growing organization.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • Experience in both new-build and retrofit automation installations preferred
  • Prior ownership or leadership in a home technology or construction service business preferred
  • Familiarity with Basecamp, QuickBooks, and project management tools preferred            
  • Ability to manage inventory creation and implementation systems preferred
