Job Description
One of the world’s leading private equity firms focused on software and technology, is seeking a Vice President of Finance Operations to join its global Operating Team. This elite group of partners with portfolio company executives to accelerate growth, strengthen financial foundations, and create measurable value across their global portfolio. This role is hands-on, analytical, and strategic. You’ll work directly with CFOs and finance leaders across enterprise SaaS companies while driving financial process optimization, guiding integrations, building scalable reporting structures, and preparing organizations for successful exits. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance environment, moves seamlessly between financial strategy and execution, and has the curiosity and grit to solve complex problems with confidence and precision.
VP of Finance Operations Responsibilities:
- Partner with portfolio company CFOs and finance teams to elevate financial operations and performance
- Lead initiatives around budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting to drive portfolio-wide insights
- Oversee carve-outs, M&A integrations, and exit readiness across multiple software companies
- Build and implement scalable financial reporting tools, analytics, and dashboards
- Step in as interim finance leader when needed for portfolio companies
- Manage and enhance portfolio-wide use of Chronograph and other analytics platforms
- Support ERP and system implementations
- Collaborate with investment and operating teams to assess and monitor portfolio company performance
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to firm-wide best practices sessions
VP of Finance Operations Requirements:
- 6 – 8 years of experience in finance, accounting, or consulting
- Must currently work within a private equity group
- CPA preferred
- MBA or advanced finance degree from a top-tier school strongly valued
- Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and analytics
- Deep understanding of SaaS business models, revenue recognition, and metrics
- Proven experience in M&A integration, carve-outs, and operational transformation
- Strong communication and presentation skills; confident working directly with executive leadership
- High EQ, low ego, collaborative, polished, and highly adaptable
- Willingness to travel up to 20%
