A well-established, community-focused financial services organization based in Marinette, Wisconsin is seeking a direct hire Loan Officer to manage an existing client portfolio, build new relationships in the community, originate loans, and provide personalized lending solutions. The ideal candidate has a minimum of three years of experience in banking or financial services, strong client relationship skills, and a proven track record in commercial lending or business development.

Loan Officer Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of an existing client portfolio while developing new client relationships
• Originate loans for qualified applicants and ensure loans meet lending guidelines
• Analyze credit, income, and collateral to support lending decisions
• Review and approve loans within set limits and guidelines
• Stay informed on lending rules, loan products, and market trends
• Collaborate with retail banking teams to generate leads and cross-sell products
• Track and report weekly leads, referrals, and loan activity
• Represent the organization in the local community through networking and events
• Attend chamber events, community gatherings, and professional networking opportunities

Loan Officer Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in banking or financial services
• High school diploma required, associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Registered MLO with NMLS or willingness to obtain (training provided)
• Notary or willingness to obtain
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong client relationship and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a small team environment
• Experience in commercial lending or small business lending preferred
• Familiarity with SBA loan programs preferred
