This position will take the lead in transitioning from traditional machining to a fully integrated CAD-to-CAM process—designing, programming, and producing precision tooling that delivers complete, ready-to-use components. The ideal candidate is a hands-on innovator who thrives on improving systems, developing tooling strategies, and mentoring others in a dynamic production environment.

Lead CNC Programmer Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop CNC programs for milling, turning, and multi-axis machines to manufacture precision tooling and fixtures
  • Create tooling components capable of producing complete, plug-and-play parts without secondary processing
  • Collaborate with engineering, tool room, and production teams to determine optimal fabrication and machining strategies
  • Troubleshoot machining and programming challenges to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Lead modernization and process improvement initiatives within the CNC and tooling departments
  • Utilize CAD/CAM software to design and program components from concept to finished product
  • Support prototype and production tooling efforts across multiple material types and machining methods
  • Maintain adherence to company and industry quality standards

Lead CNC Programmer Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing or toolmaking environment
  • Proven background working with CAD/CAM software
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to take projects from CAD design through CAM programming to final production
  • Hands-on machining knowledge with the ability to collaborate closely with toolmakers and engineers
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on process improvement and modernization
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in a collaborative, production-driven setting

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary with bonus potential
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
