Job Description

A growing technology-focused firm is seeking a Director of Solutions Engineering to lead a high-performing team in designing and implementing innovative software solutions for private investment initiatives. The role encompasses creating financial models, developing pitch decks, standardizing software development processes, and overseeing architectural and technical decisions across multiple projects. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, demonstrates decisiveness under competing priorities, and brings a strong technical background with hands-on software development experience and proven leadership skills.

Director of Solutions Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee a team of 15 software engineers, including 4-5 direct reports
  • Prioritize engineering resources across multiple projects and client initiatives
  • Engage with client technical counterparts to triage issues and guide solutions
  • Develop and review project roadmaps and technical architectures
  • Make decisions on technology stacks and full-stack solutions for projects
  • Collaborate with growth teams on potential bids and proposals
  • Standardize software development processes and ensure security best practices
  • Manage stakeholders and navigate complex priorities and cultural dynamics
  • Submit RFPs and ensure timely response to client requests

Director of Solutions Engineering Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in software development and engineering leadership
  • Proven experience managing teams with 3-5 direct reports and layered team structures
  • Full-stack development expertise with front-end and back-end proficiency
  • Strong background in AWS cloud stack and .NET framework
  • Competency in C#, Python, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, SQL Server
  • Familiarity with MIL-based solutions and AI, with security awareness and mitigation practices
  • Experience supporting federal agencies or government-related software development
  • Ability to obtain at least a minimum security clearance
  • Intellectual curiosity, persistence, and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solution architecture experience, Salesforce familiarity, and Databricks exposure are preferred
