A dynamic construction company in Camarillo, California, is on the lookout for a sharp, detail-focused Project Accountant. This fully onsite role puts you at the heart of the action, managing full-cycle accounting, project costing, and financial analysis while working side by side with field teams and leadership. The ideal candidate brings hands-on project accounting experience, strong technical skills, and a proactive mindset ready to make an impact in a collaborative, employee-owned environment.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $90,000 / year DOE

Responsibilities:                  

• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reports
• Support general ledger entries and reconciliations
• Perform job costing, margin analysis, and WIP reporting
• Compare project budgets versus actual results and provide insights
• Assist with company and project budgets and forecasts
• Build and manage project budgets, track and review job costs against budgets
• Help with purchasing, vendor tracking, and cost control
• Manage inventory and materials

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience
• Must have project accounting experience
• Strong Excel and ERP/accounting software skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Self-starter with a drive to learn, contribute, and grow into leadership roles
