Position Title: Structured Products Analyst/Portfolio Manager

The Structured Products Analyst/Portfolio Manager plays a critical role in managing a substantial portfolio with a focus on structured products totaling $7.5 billion in assets under management. This position requires a deep understanding of pre-payment behavior and cash flow analysis related to prepayments and defaults. The candidate will navigate a dynamic market environment, which presents challenges in risk management and decision-making. Effective communication and analytical skills are essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and contribute to the team’s overall performance while identifying opportunities for portfolio enhancement.

Salary Range: $150,000 – $200,000 / Year DOE

Structured Products Analyst/Portfolio Manager Responsibilities:

  • Understand pre-payment behavior and analyze cash flows related to prepayments and defaults
  • Run risk assessments and monitor profit and loss
  • Stay informed about news impacting asset classes and risk positions
  • Analyze bonds and cash flows
  • Utilize knowledge of structured products, including Agency MBS, NonAgency RMBS, Agency CMBS, NonAgency CMBS, and ABS
  • Conduct asset allocation
  • Perform quantitative modeling and identify opportunities to generate alpha
  • Write daily market commentaries
  • Prepare materials for weekly meetings to present risk positions
  • Maintain communication with dealers to understand positions
  • Conduct risk and duration analysis

Structured Products Analyst/Portfolio Manager Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience as a Structured Products Analyst/Portfolio Manager
  • Knowledge of structured products, including Agency MBS, NonAgency RMBS, Agency CMBS, NonAgency CMBS, and ABS
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field
  • Expertise in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros
  • Experience in developing and preparing quantitative modeling, such as Python or BBA coding
  • Risk-taking and trading experience are preferred
