Position Title: Overnight Dispatch Coordinator
Keep critical operations moving when most of the world is asleep. A fast-paced third-party logistics company is seeking an Overnight Dispatch Coordinator to support its 24/7 operation in Austin, TX. This role combines dispatch coordination, customer communication, order entry, warehouse support, and real-time problem-solving to ensure time-sensitive courier, medical, and logistics shipments stay on track
The ideal candidate has previous overnight work experience, communicates professionally under pressure, and thrives in an environment where priorities can change quickly. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants variety, responsibility, and the ability to grow across multiple areas of logistics operations
Salary Range: $50,000 – $65,000 / Year, DOE
Responsibilities
- Coordinate overnight dispatch activities and monitor time-sensitive deliveries, driver updates, and critical shipment deadlines
- Communicate professionally with customers, drivers, and independent contractors by phone and provide timely status updates
- Enter and manage orders accurately while responding quickly to changes, delays, and operational issues
- Support courier, medical specimen, STAT delivery and third-party logistics operations
- Work closely with warehouse personnel to receive incoming parts, update inventory, and maintain smooth handoffs
- Assist with inventory processes and help improve existing warehouse and operational workflows
- Adapt to changing priorities and take ownership of different responsibilities based on daily business needs
Requirements
- 1+ year of relevant professional experience
- Previous overnight or night-shift work experience required, ideally within dispatch, logistics, or a similar 24/7 operation
- Warehouse experience required for candidates without a military background
- Strong phone presence with the professionalism to communicate effectively with customers, drivers and contractors
- Sound judgment and the ability to make responsible decisions independently during overnight operations
- Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts approximately 4–5 days per week, including evenings and weekends
- Personable, direct, and able to work effectively with a wide range of personalities
- Military experience is highly valued, particularly for candidates transitioning into civilian logistics or operations roles
- Bachelor’s degree is not required
