Position Title: Quality Assurance Manager
Salary Range: $95,000–$125,000 / Year, DOE
A well-established precision manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality operations within a highly technical, high-precision production environment. This hands-on leadership role will oversee incoming material inspections, supplier quality, corrective actions, quality processes, and a team of inspectors while partnering closely with machine shop supervisors and production teams to maintain exceptional standards without sacrificing throughput.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of quality management experience in aerospace, ordnance, medical device, or another high-precision manufacturing environment, along with advanced blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing knowledge, and hands-on inspection experience. This person must be comfortable leading from the floor, training inspectors, and driving accountability in a fast-moving manufacturing operation.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day quality assurance and inspection activities across the manufacturing facility
- Manage, train, and develop a team of quality inspectors while remaining actively involved on the production floor
- Inspect and oversee inspection of incoming materials, machined components, and finished products
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and geometric tolerances
- Own nonconformance, recall, and corrective action processes from identification through resolution
- Develop and implement a supplier rating system while partnering with vendors to address material and quality concerns
- Collaborate directly with machine operators and shop supervisors to resolve quality issues and improve inspection throughput
- Maintain quality standards and documentation while supporting ISO 9000 requirements and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 5+ years of quality assurance or quality control management experience, ideally within aerospace, ordnance, medical device, or high-precision manufacturing
- Degree required, along with demonstrated experience leading quality operations in a complex manufacturing environment
- Strong hands-on inspection experience with advanced blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing capabilities
- Knowledge of applicable ANSI dimensional and tolerancing standards
- Experience managing nonconforming materials, recalls, and corrective action processes
- Ability to train and develop junior inspectors while setting clear expectations for quality, accuracy, and urgency
- Strong technical aptitude with experience using ERP systems, Microsoft 365, and quality or inspection software; CMM programming experience is preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to successfully complete required federal background and drug screening
