A growing technology organization based in the UK is seeking a Systems Engineer to join a global technology-focused team. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure, including cloud platforms, virtual environments, data center hardware, and enterprise applications. The position plays a key part in ensuring systems’ uptime, security, and smooth deployments, while also contributing to process improvements and new technology adoption. The right candidate will be a hands-on professional with deep technical expertise who thrives in a collaborative, remote-first environment and is eager to learn and implement emerging technologies.

Systems Engineer Responsibilities: 

  • Provide tier-1 support for staff laptops, primarily MacOS
  • Manage and maintain VMWare, Linux, and container environments including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Deploy and maintain hardware, servers, and networking equipment in a company data center environment
  • Document systems, create IT support processes, and assist with planning new deployments
  • Monitor system performance, ensure security, and resolve issues quickly
  • Support adoption of cloud and SaaS platforms
  • Develop and maintain IT policies and provide guidance to staff when needed
  • Participate in agile projects, lead implementations, and integrate cloud, AI, and IoT technologies

Systems Engineer Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional IT systems engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • Cloud certifications such as AWS, Azure, or IBM preferred
  • Strong experience with cloud development and DevOps practices, familiarity with container technologies
  • Proficiency with MacOS, Windows 10, and enterprise IT infrastructure
  • Expertise with Linux scripting, web servers, GitLab, VMWare, and networking
  • Programming experience in Java, JavaScript, Python, C/C++, or Perl is a plus
