Job Description

An established construction firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager/Estimator to join its team in Ontario, California. The Senior Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for overseeing all phases of work, including preparing detailed estimates, managing budgets, coordinating project activities, and ensuring successful delivery from start to finish. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings proven experience in construction project management.

Salary Range: $110,000 – $140,000 / year DOE

Senior Project Manager/Estimator Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare detailed estimates, bid proposals, RFIs, submittals, and purchase orders
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, sequencing plans, and manpower projections
  • Coordinate detailing, fabrication, and erection schedules with project milestones
  • Monitor budgets and cost reports to keep projects within financial targets
  • Collaborate with clients, field staff, and design professionals to resolve project challenges
  • Conduct site visits to verify progress and ensure accuracy of installation
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with stakeholders
  • Provide value engineering recommendations to optimize cost and performance

Senior Project Manager/Estimator Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in construction project management, ideally 5+
  • Direct experience with structural steel projects
  • Proven success managing projects ranging from $50,000 to $1 million
  • Hands-on knowledge of structural steel components
  • Proficiency in preparing RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, and change orders
  • Experience in monitoring budgets and cost reports
  • Strong background in logistics and project team management
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Excel, and Procore
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, structural engineering, or business administration is preferred, but not required
  • OSHA certifications preferred
