Job Description
A well-respected San Francisco law firm is hiring experienced Legal Assistants to support high-stakes plaintiff-side class action and antitrust matters by owning document production, advanced formatting, and federal filings. You’ll be embedded in active cases, partnering with attorneys and paralegals to keep fast-moving litigation on track and courtroom-ready. Salary Range: $85,000 – $120,000 / Year DOE
Legal Assistant Responsibilities:
- Prepare, format, edit, and finalize legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and correspondence
- Apply advanced Microsoft Word formatting
- Create document shells and ensure filings meet court and firm standards
- Proofread for grammar, accuracy, citation consistency, and formatting compliance
- Handle e-filings, primarily in federal court
- Coordinate with attorneys and paralegals to meet tight deadlines across multiple cases
- Maintain and organize electronic and paper files in NetDocuments and related systems
- Prepare binders and manage in-office printing and document production
- Provide administrative and case support with a strong focus on litigation workflows
Legal Assistant Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or Legal Word Processor
- Experience supporting complex class action litigation
- Advanced Word processing and heavy formatting expertise
- Federal e-filing experience preferred
- Experience with document management systems
- Strong grammar, proofreading, editing, and transcription skills
- Ability to work extended hours when litigation deadlines require it
- Plaintiff-side litigation experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience working in fast-paced, large, or complex litigation practices preferred
