Job Description
Southern California’s trusted leader in structural and architectural concrete construction is hiring a Senior Project Engineer to take full ownership of complex structural concrete projects from planning through execution. This role sits at the center of the job, bridging the field and the office while managing schedules, budgets, contracts, changing orders, and client coordination. You’ll run the day-to-day of major pours and multiple smaller projects, acting as the technical and financial brain behind the work while the Project Manager oversees at a higher level. They are looking for a sharp, mid-to-senior-level concrete professional who understands the numbers, the contracts, and the field and is ready to grow into a future Project Manager.
Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000 / Year DOE
Senior Project Engineer Responsibilities:
- Own day-to-day management of assigned concrete projects ranging from $100K to $10M
- Act as the primary point of coordination between superintendents, clients, and the Project Manager
- Manage schedules, production planning, and field coordination for pours and site activities
- Handle contract administration, change orders, and cost tracking
- Oversee billing, forecasting, and job financials
- Review and manage plans, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
- Support cost estimating, budgeting, and project buyout
- Ensure work complies with plans, specs, and safety standards
- Travel to job sites for pours, inspections, and coordination
Senior Project Engineer Requirements:
- 5+ years of project engineering or project management experience in concrete construction
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong understanding of cast-in-place concrete operations
- Experience with project scheduling, cost tracking, and contract management
- Knowledge of formwork systems, rebar, post-tensioning, and shoring
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Autodesk tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently with minimal supervision
- Structural concrete background preferred
- Experience with Timberline, Procore, Autodesk Build, AutoCAD, BIM, and On-Screen Takeoff preferred
- Experience working for a concrete subcontractor rather than a general contractor preferred
Benefits:
- Discretionary year-end profit sharing
- Project-based bonuses tied to job profitability
- 100% employer-paid medical coverage for the full family
- 401(k) with profit sharing
- Company credit card for job-related expenses
- PTO
- Minimal overtime and low-stress work environment
