A leading manufacturer of precision-engineered gears and gearboxes is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow their client base across the Midwest. This role is ideal for a technical sales professional with a proven background in custom gear or gearbox manufacturing, who thrives on relationship-building, solution selling, and closing high-value deals. This is a remote role (Chicagoland-based), with frequent client visits, industry events, and trade show attendance.

Salary Range: $120,000 – $250,000 / year DOE

Outside Sales Representative Responsibilities:

• Build and grow a territory within a 200-mile radius of Chicago, focusing on new business and existing customer retention
• Conduct client visits to identify needs, present solutions, and close deals
• Develop tailored proposals and technical quotes for custom gear and gearbox systems
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop accurate, cost-effective solutions
• Maintain accurate records in CRM and report on activity, pipelines, and forecasted sales
• Represent the company at trade shows and industry events
• Meet or exceed monthly sales targets

Outside Sales Representative Requirements:

• 3+ years of sales experience in gear manufacturing or custom gearbox solutions
• Proven success in outside sales, lead generation, and closing complex B2B deals
• Ability to create technical proposals and present to stakeholders in person and virtually
• Excellent relationship-building and customer service skills
• Comfortable traveling 50–60% of the time
• Based in the Chicagoland area
• CRM proficiency
• Degree preferred but not required
