A family-owned construction leader is hiring a Senior Drywall Estimator to lead preconstruction for a $30M, family-owned commercial drywall contractor that’s been winning in Seattle for over 60 years. You will own what gets bid, how it gets priced, and how work moves from plans to profits. You will also mentor a team of five junior estimators and set the standard for how drywall estimating is done across the company. They are looking for a proven commercial drywall estimator who wants ownership, influence, and the chance to build a legacy team.

Salary Range: $100,000 – $130,000 / Year DOE

Senior Drywall Estimator Responsibilities:

  • Lead all drywall estimating for projects ranging from $100K to $18M
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings, specs, and addenda
  • Analyze scopes, identify gaps, and assess project risk
  • Develop bid strategies with ownership and leadership
  • Solicit, compare, and level subcontractor and vendor pricing
  • Value-engineer projects and provide alternate pricing
  • Maintain historical cost data and bid tracking systems
  • Manage awarded projects through pre-con, construction, and closeout
  • Handle change orders, submittals, billing, and job documentation
  • Visit job sites regularly to support the field and solve problems
  • Mentor and train five junior estimators to elevate the entire team

Senior Drywall Estimator Requirements:

  • 7+ years estimating commercial drywall projects
  • Experience bidding and winning projects from $100K – $18M
  • Deep knowledge of drywall systems, framing, and interior finishes
  • Proficiency in BuzzBid, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, or similar tools
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Experience with both negotiated and hard-bid work
  • Ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising other estimators
  • Working knowledge of project management fundamentals
  • Professional, reliable, and driven “get-it-done” mindset
