Job Description
A family-owned leader in industrial packaging and automation is hiring a Manufacturing Controller to take over from a 25-year veteran who is retiring and will stay on to fully train and transition this role. You will own the month-end close, financial reporting, AP/AR oversight, payroll supervision, variance analysis, and the accounting side of a major ERP transition as the company moves onto Epicor. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will bring structure, accountability, and modern financial controls to a profitable $17M manufacturer. They are looking for a manufacturing-savvy Controller who is steady, hands-on, and excited to build long-term stability inside a family-owned business.
Manufacturing Controller Responsibilities:
- Own the month-end close, including journal entries, debits, and credits
- Produce monthly financial statements and management reports
- Oversee AP and AR volumes
- Supervise payroll
- Analyze inventory and cost variances generated by the ERP system
- Partner with an external CPA firm for year-end tax filings
- Manage company insurance programs
- Support accounting for a second entity
- Lead accounting process improvements during ERP transition
- Create and enforce new accounting controls, policies, and procedures
Manufacturing Controller Requirements:
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or 15+ years of experience
- Experience with financial reporting, month-end close, and variance analysis
- Comfort overseeing AP, AR, and payroll
- Experience working in ERP systems
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
