Job Description

A catering leader in central Indiana is hiring a Pastry Chef to own and elevate all pastry production across corporate events, weddings, and luxury experiences. This role is responsible for high-volume execution, next-level dessert design, and creating true wow-factor moments at scale. You will lead pastry production, mentor talent, collaborate with leadership, and personally step in when execution matters most. The right candidate is a highly creative, high-volume pastry leader who thrives in luxury environments, leads with service, and takes pride in flawless execution.

Pastry Chef Responsibilities:

  • Lead all pastry production for corporate events, weddings, and large-scale luxury functions
  • Design visually stunning dessert plates, stations, and displays that deliver a true “wow” experience
  • Execute high-volume pastry production with precision and consistency
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on tasting menus, RFPs, and client presentations
  • Develop and launch new dessert menus and mini-sweet concepts throughout the year
  • Oversee ingredient ordering, inventory management, and pastry department costing
  • Partner with procurement and vendors to ensure best quality and price alignment
  • Create and manage pastry production schedules and staffing plans
  • Ensure flawless execution for on-site and off-premises events, including custom and VIP desserts
  • Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and health department compliance
  • Train, mentor, and elevate pastry team skillsets and execution standards
  • Step in hands-on during major events when needed; no task is too big or too small

Pastry Chef Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional pastry experience in high-volume catering, hotel, or luxury hospitality environments
  • Proven experience supporting $5M+ in annual food and beverage sales
  • Strong background in fine dining and luxury-level pastry presentation
  • Advanced chocolate and sugar garnish skills
  • High-volume purchasing and cost management experience
  • Expertise in food safety practices and production systems
  • Experience with event-driven scheduling and team coordination
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Creative, collaborative, and service-driven leadership>Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • HACCP or ServSafe certification preferred
