Job Description
A multi-state law firm serving financial institutions across the U.S., is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney licensed in New Mexico to join their growing litigation team. This fully remote role is ideal for recent law school graduates or early-career attorneys with 1+ years of experience in litigation, real estate, or mortgage law. You will gain valuable hands-on experience managing a high-volume caseload, drafting pleadings, attending hearings, and advising clients, all within a supportive, tech-forward environment. They are looking for a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is eager to grow their legal career in real estate and mortgage litigation.
Associate Attorney Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of residential real estate litigation, mortgage, and transactional matters
- Analyze legal issues and advise clients on strategy and risk mitigation
- Draft pleadings, court documents, and defend motions
- Appear at hearings virtually and in-person across New Mexico
- Maintain organized case files and meet billing targets
- Collaborate with internal departments and handle special legal projects as assigned
Associate Attorney Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in the state of New Mexico
- 1+ year of experience in litigation, real estate, or mortgage law
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to travel for court proceedings within New Mexico
- Familiarity with consumer protection laws or foreclosure processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases is a plus
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
