Job Description

A premier federal and commercial contractor is seeking a skilled Commercial Project Manager to lead complex renovation and ground-up construction projects for government and commercial clients. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of contract execution, from pre-construction planning and FAR/DFARS compliance to subcontractor coordination, budgeting, reporting, and quality assurance. Commercial Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage federal and commercial construction projects from pre-construction to closeout
  • Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and ensure adherence to specs and schedules
  • Conduct weekly and monthly meetings to monitor manpower, metrics, and schedule performance
  • Coordinate with field superintendents, subcontractors, and government representatives
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members and clients
  • Ensure documentation and compliance standards meet federal guidelines
  • Interface regularly with clients, educating them on technical challenges and compliant alternatives
  • Review project scopes and deliverables for alignment with federal agency standards

Commercial Project Manager Requirements:

  • 5+ years of project management experience in federal or large-scale commercial construction
  • Strong understanding of federal procurement and documentation requirements
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Suite, Adobe, and submittal exchange platforms
  • Experience with RMS, Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, or VA projects strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel locally to project sites and manage remote or on-site team operations
  • Resident Management System proficiency is a plus
  • Experience with ground-up and renovation projects is preferred
  • Background in military, hospital, or civil infrastructure builds is a plus
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
