Job Description
A premier federal and commercial contractor is seeking a skilled Commercial Project Manager to lead complex renovation and ground-up construction projects for government and commercial clients. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of contract execution, from pre-construction planning and FAR/DFARS compliance to subcontractor coordination, budgeting, reporting, and quality assurance. Commercial Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage federal and commercial construction projects from pre-construction to closeout
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and ensure adherence to specs and schedules
- Conduct weekly and monthly meetings to monitor manpower, metrics, and schedule performance
- Coordinate with field superintendents, subcontractors, and government representatives
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members and clients
- Ensure documentation and compliance standards meet federal guidelines
- Interface regularly with clients, educating them on technical challenges and compliant alternatives
- Review project scopes and deliverables for alignment with federal agency standards
Commercial Project Manager Requirements:
- 5+ years of project management experience in federal or large-scale commercial construction
- Strong understanding of federal procurement and documentation requirements
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Suite, Adobe, and submittal exchange platforms
- Experience with RMS, Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, or VA projects strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel locally to project sites and manage remote or on-site team operations
- Resident Management System proficiency is a plus
- Experience with ground-up and renovation projects is preferred
- Background in military, hospital, or civil infrastructure builds is a plus
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
